Industry News — 19″ Subrack & Chassis Systems

Public industry updates we track in our daily work: product documentation, standards and demand signals from the embedded computing and equipment enclosure sectors. Links point to the original sources; the notes are our own engineering view.

nVent SCHROFF — 19" subrack and chassis product range

2026-10-13 · Product range

The SCHROFF subrack range is one of the reference frameworks for 19″ standard hardware. Engineering buyers routinely cross-check against its order-number system — which is exactly why we publish our own specification pages under the corresponding 8-digit part numbers: if the interface dimensions match, the part fits.

Public product documentation for 19" hardware

2026-10-13 · Specifications

Take 34561-584 — an AB-type rear horizontal rail for rear I/O board guides, 84 HP: aluminium extrusion, anodised, conductive contact surface. These technical parameters are common to the whole industry. What actually differentiates suppliers is machining tolerance, surface treatment and delivery reliability — not the drawing itself.

nVent — events and trade shows

2026-10-13 · Industry events

Trade-show calendars are worth watching because they reflect demand shifts. Semiconductor test equipment, medical devices and AI server chassis have taken visibly more floor space in recent years — and the batch demand for subrack accessories behind them is moving the same way.

PICMG — open standards for embedded computing

2026-10-13 · Standards

CompactPCI, VPX and AdvancedTCA determine the mechanical interface dimensions of a chassis. Making subrack accessories starts with reading those specs properly: guide-rail pitch, HP division, keying and coding. Get those details wrong and the whole batch will not fit.

IEC 60297 — mechanical structures for 19" equipment practice

2026-10-13 · Standards

IEC 60297 is the origin standard for 19″ rack practice — it sets the 1U height, the HP width division and the mounting-hole spacing. Every subrack, horizontal rail and guide rail takes its interchangeability from it, which is the technical reason why the same position numbers from different suppliers can line up.
