Buying from C-BOX

Questions buyers ask before the first order

Minimum order, price terms, lead time, payment, samples, quality documents and confidentiality — answered plainly. If your question is not here, ask it directly and an engineer replies.

Ordering, prices and payment

Can you supply a part that another supplier discontinued?

Yes — that is the most common reason buyers come to us. Our cross-reference covers 220 eight-digit order numbers of the IEC 60297 / IEEE 1101 mechanics family. Send the number already on your drawing or BOM, or send the drawing itself, and we confirm dimensional compatibility and quote.

Are C-BOX parts original SCHROFF or nVent products?

No. C-BOX is an independent manufacturer, not a distributor. The parts we supply are C-BOX manufactured equivalents with the same interface dimensions, hole patterns and panel cut-outs, produced with our own tooling. Product names and order numbers are used descriptively to indicate compatibility.

What is the minimum order quantity?

Standard catalogue parts can start as a trial order from USD 100–300, with no tooling fee. Many part numbers carry an MOQ of 100 or 1,000 pcs, stated on the model page. Custom builds start from a drawing, so the MOQ depends on the process — we quote it with the job.

Which prices are shown on the website, and what do they include?

Prices on model pages are indicative USD, EXW Kunshan, at the MOQ stated for that part. FOB Shanghai is quoted on request. Final price depends on quantity, finish and machining. Prices are not VAT-inclusive and do not cover export clearance or freight unless quoted as FOB.

What payment methods do you accept?

T/T and L/C. Payment details are confirmed on the proforma invoice with the order.

Do you supply samples, and what do they cost?

Yes. Samples are charged at the unit price and the amount is credited against the order; freight is at the buyer's cost.

Lead time and quality documents

How fast do you quote?

Within 24 hours for standard items, and within 3–5 days for custom builds that need a drawing review and process routing.

What is the production lead time?

About 10 days for standard catalogue parts and about 21 days for 19″ cabinets. Lead time is counted in calendar days from order confirmation and deposit; Chinese statutory holidays are not counted and extend the delivery date accordingly. Custom builds are quoted case by case, with the lead time stated on the quotation.

What quality documents come with an order?

First-article inspection (FAI) is included at no extra charge when requested. Dimensional inspection reports and material certificates are issued by C-BOX on request and travel with the shipment.

Can we get 3D models before ordering?

Yes. STEP files and PDF drawings are downloadable per part number under CAD models, before any enquiry. If a model is missing, ask and we send it.

Custom work and confidentiality

Can you build to our drawing, or match another supplier's chassis?

Yes — build-to-print is a large part of what we do. HP width, U height, depth, EMC gasket and finish are all configurable, and we regularly match existing installations. Send a drawing, a sample, or a competitor's part number.

Will you sign an NDA before we send drawings?

Yes. We work to customer drawings under confidentiality and can sign your NDA or provide ours. Typical terms cover drawings and technical data for two to three years, with obligations on both sides.

What should a request for quotation include?

Part number or drawing, quantity, required finish, and any interface constraints (backplane, board depth, EMC shielding). For an equivalent of an existing part, the original order number plus the supplier is enough for us to start. Send an RFQ.
